Luisa Ferrari Armani, 93 of Phoenicia died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday February 2, 2021. She was born March 31, 1927 in Pello Del'Orso, Italy daughter of the late Domenico and Fortunata Ferrari.
Luisa and her husband Lodovico immigrated to Buenos Aries, Argentina for two years, shortly after their marriage in 1954 . They were committed and dedicated to one another for 59 years of a blessed marriage. Luisa was the matriarch of her beloved family. She lovingly passed down family traditions and faith. Her focus on hospitality ensured that there were always family and friends gathered around her table to share a meal that she had prepared. She was a Mother to all who felt her loving presence, and was endearingly referred to as "Signora Bella". She always conducted herself with 'class' and you knew that her family was paramount to her.
Surviving are her daughter Lorenza Vesely of Phoenicia, grandchildren: Stefanie (Geoff) Vidal of Cornwall, Luisa (Peter) Solis-Cohen of Denver, CO.,and Peter Vesely of Alexandria, VA. Four great grandchildren: Louis and Julianna Vidal, and Evan and Naomi Solis-Cohen, a nephew Renzo (Renza) Armani, and extended family in Italy. The family wishes to express their eternal gratitude to Luisa's caregiver Nicole Hlinko of Chichester who Luisa welcomed into her home and family. She is predeceased by her husband Lodovico, daughter Gloria, siblings: Luigi and Giuseppe Ferrari and Maria Ferrari Malvicini.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at the St. Francis de Sales Church Main St. Phoenicia. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, NY The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 to 6pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. Face coverings and social distancing safety will be observed.
