Raymond Kirk Obituary

West Hurley-

Raymond A. Kirk of west Hurley died peacefully at the home of his daughter on Sunday January 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 5, 1934 in Phoenicia son of the late Raymond and Lila Winne Kirk.  He was a veteran of the US Army, and active in many athletic sports in his younger days.  He was a notable first baseman on the soft ball team, a league bowler, and enjoyed time on the golf course.  He had an appreciation of nature, used to hike and roam the Catskill Mountains, and was a talented fly fisherman.   Ray was a native and life long area resident who was a huge supporter of his community.   He has been a Main Street businessman for over fifty years, having operated the Kirk's Market and the Nest Egg in Phoenicia.  When he wasn't active about town, he enjoyed a good book.  He was a business leader that will be missed by his community.

Surviving are his daughter Robin Kirk and her husband Richard Gramzow, and grandchildren Garrett and Elizabeth.  He was predeceased by his wife Roberta in 2000, a son "Ray J", and sister Lila Heinrich.
